Welcoming the Music and Dementia Care Network: a new international collaboration

In April, PhD students Anna Bryan, Lucy Forde, and Deniz Hepdogan, together with Professor Katie Overy, convened a full-day interdisciplinary workshop, Music and Dementia Care: Future Directions, held at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, bringing together voices from a wide range of speakers to explore new directions in music and dementia care.

The event launched our new Music and Dementia Care Network, a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, the University of Toronto, and Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, supported by the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC) and AGE-WELL, Canada.

Hosted locally by the Music in Human and Social Development research group, the event fostered collaborative discussions aimed at shaping innovative approaches and future directions in the field.
