Biography:
Helen Hines is a violin teacher, researcher, and international music examiner with the London College of Music (University of West London). She is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Music at the University of Edinburgh (supervised by Dr Nikki Moran and Dr Lisa McCormick), holder of the Edinburgh College of Art Research Scholarship. She was a postgraduate teaching assistant with the Edinburgh Futures Institute (2022–2026), and a PhD Tutor for the Brilliant Club (2023-2025). Her research explores the use of digital technologies in instrumental and vocal teaching, combining perspectives from music, sociology, and digital education. Helen holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology, an MSc in Instrumental Teaching, and teaching diplomas from ABRSM and Trinity College London. Before moving into music full-time, she spent 18 years as a Senior Technical Consultant at Oracle Corporation.
