Prof. Katie Overy presented a new MRI study at The Neurosciences and Music VIII: Wiring, Re-wiring and Well-being, University of Helsinki, Finland, 13-16 June 2024. “The Ageing Brain and Lifetime Experience of Playing a Musical Instrument: Evidence from the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936” shared early results from an analysis of the effects of lifetime instrumental training on MRI measures of brain volume.
