Ziyang Cao, Anna Bryan and Katie Overy attend ESCOM meeting in York

From 3-6 July 2024, Ziyang Cao, Anna Bryan, and Katie Overy attended the interdisciplinary European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music (ESCOM) conference in York. Ziyang gave a talk (“Can singing help pre-school children learn and recall the WHO handwashing technique?”), Anna gave a workshop (“Music provision in Scottish care homes: how do activities coordinators plan and facilitate music activities?”) and Katie contributed an online poster (“Mental health correlates of lifetime musical experience in the Lothian Birth Cohort 1936”). There were many new connections made through presentations and engaging coffee-break discussions with other delegates. Highlights of the conference included a delicious dinner with other attendees, and social evening events – including a river boat cruise and a ghost bus tour!
