PhD student Pauline Black appointed President of the ISM
Congratulations to Pauline! Pauline was recently appointed President of the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM). Pauline will be President for a year and will chair the talented and diverse board of the ISM as it continues to navigate the very many challenges facing the music sector. As Senior Lecturer and Head of Music Engagement at the University of Aberdeen, and a much-respected educator, Pauline has taught music in schools, higher education and community settings and is widely in demand as a music education consultant. She has particular interests in informal learning and improvising, jazz in education, digital creativity and music technology. She has devised and delivered a number of creative projects for arts organisations including Creative Learning Aberdeen, Jazz Scotland and Sound Scotland.
