Prestigious Personal Research Fellowship awarded for interdisciplinary project on musical relationships
Dr Nikki Moran has been awarded a prestigious RSE Personal Research Fellowship to explore what the social and creative dimensions of musical accompaniment have to reveal about technologically mediated interaction in the arts and arts education. Nikki’s research highlights the relational quality of creative expression, helping to explain the value to both individuals and communities of accessing such experiences through life-long opportunities for musical participation. By providing new critical vocabulary that can help to articulate the interpersonal and creative dimensions of musical experience and learning, the research opens up new questions around the social-relational consequences of current and future mainstreamed arts educational tools and pedagogies.
